Many people think that creating a personal budget is only good for household finances. On the contrary, creating a worksheet for a budget is applicable to almost any kind of finance management, from simple grocery shopping to multi-corporate finances. A Budget Worksheet can greatly help people who travel a lot by helping them track and analyze their travel spending habits.

Travel, no matter how cheap travel agencies say it can be, is an expense which is relatively more costly than one’s monthly expenses. Sometimes, the flight alone can cost hundreds of dollars, depending on the distance to be crossed from the place of origin to the destination. In addition to the flight expenses, there would also be hotel accommodations, car rentals, food, and other incidental charges that one may have to pay for. A frequent traveler may have different means of traveling. He may travel by plane this month, by road trip the next month, and by cruise on the next. Thus, his travel expenses differ every time he travels.

Creating a budget worksheet can help a frequent traveler track his travel spending habits so that he may be able to omit some of unnecessary expenses to lower down his next travel expenses.

Going away to college can be both an exciting and a frightening experience for a young adult. The anxiety of being away from home and starting to live independently can add up to the stressful thought of missing the other members of the family. Thus, sending him a car which he can drive to places especially back to home during vacations and visits would mean so much to him. This is conveniently possible through car transportation.

You can send the vehicle to his location by hiring the services of a car transportation company. Requesting for quotations and even booking a transport schedule is also convenient with the use of the internet. Many car transportation companies have websites where customers can see the information they need to help them decide about the services they want to avail. They can also compare rates of different car transportation companies in a matter of minutes without having to leave the house or their office. After booking a car transport schedule, all you have to do next is to let your child know the date and time the car would be delivered.

With a car of his own, your child would feel closer to home since he could pay his family a visit anytime he wants.

No matter how far away you are from Asheville, once you have visited this area in North Carolina, you will instantly discover that it is worth the long travel. If you dream of seeing a place where the land is fertile and lush, where the sceneries and the sounds of nature will embrace you with its magnificent beauty, and where the people are friendly, then Asheville is the place to go. It is a place where nature is not only experienced through the breathtaking views, but also in the delicious feast served in every asheville restaurant.

Each asheville downtown restaurant has something unique and special to offer everyone, just like the city where they are located. Many tourists and visitors find trying different cuisines served by different restaurants in Asheville similar to giving the stomach a tour to the world as Asheville is one of the few places where there is wide diversity in cuisines, from local delicacies to foreign meals. One who likes Mexican food will not miss its taste when in Asheville as the place also has Mexican restaurants along with other dining facilities that serve Greek, Italian, Chinese, American, Continental, and Oriental cuisines. With restaurants preparing their meals from scratch and getting the ingredients from recently harvested crops of the local farmers, one can be certain that what he eats in Asheville is fresh.

The food in Asheville is as warm as the people who serve it. Most tourists find it very nice that the chefs and restaurant staff manage to share some stories with them as long as their duties can permit it and the place is not packed with customers waiting for their orders.

Any type of travel, be it long distance or a short one, requires one to have a regular-sized and handy, carry-along bag that contains all the immediate needs they may have during their trip. While the rest of your bags and luggage are checked in at the baggage cabin; having this bag on your person at all times makes it easy for you to have your valuables close and at hand.

Aside from the usual collection of wallets, jewelries, purses, mobile phones, organizers and other such valuables, there are other items that need to be in your easy-access travel kit.

For your security: Your mobile phone charger or spare cell phone batteries should always be close at hand for emergencies. Your travel kit should also contain your identification information and emergency contacts. It is also wise to walk around with some sort of self-defense contraption, the most common of which is the pepper spray.

For your comfort and enjoyment: You should always have a supply of ‘travel meds’ for the road. This is for motion sickness, allergies and sleeping pills that you may need to help you deal with the jet lag. It is also good to bring along a pocketbook for light reading; this is to amuse you if you find yourself alone and waiting for your time to board. Your travel kit will not be complete without a small pack of chocolates or any other energy bar. A bit of a sugar rush is good for the road.

I once read on an October 2007 issue of Newsweek about “poorists”. These are tourists who forego the highly comfortable yet highly predictable tour itinerary for the globalized parts of the world. They actually pay money so they could visit impoverished and grimy places like Soweto in South Africa, the slums of New York, and one among the largest slum areas in Asia- the slums of Mumbai in India.

A Brazilian slum-tour company claims to have booked 650 tourists for a single month. The tour has its own dark charms- the prices are cheap compared to that of the regular travel packages to popular tourist destinations; the relatively well-off ‘”poorists” get a chance to see for themselves what it is like to have limited means for survival- something that they could hardly imagine possible.

The article got me thinking about Bono and how he started, years and years ago with his advocacies for the poor and the oppressed. He started with something similar; he and his wife tried living for a month with a village of natives in South Africa. It was a life changing experience that got Bono using his rock star charm and smarts. He helped bring about and is still bringing about a lot of good change for third world countries.

I know I need not go on any slum-tour to get my epiphany… but I wish other tourists would think about taking the alternate route to a more rewarding experience.
