The varying landscape of the country which was generously revealed through the movie- shifting from green plains to tree-less hills to verdant forests to rocky cliffs present an enduring source of awe and fascination to nature-lovers as well as a haven of inspiration for painters and photographers. And who could ever forget the serenity and simplicity of The Shire? Certainly not those who live in the hustle and bustle of a city.

The movie brought in even more admirers to New Zealand, it was difficult to resist the magnetism of such enviable beauty that’s pretty hard to come by nowadays.
